Overview

Responsible for: Executing all Aviation maintenance activities for (UH60/AH64/AH6i/ALSE/AGSE); directs and coordinates the program activities of aviation maintenance(AVIM/AVUM); coordinates aviation logistics and supply chain management (SCM) requirements with the Aviation Logistics Team and coordinates with the Flight Operations Manager for rotary wing aviation operations consisting of AH64D, UH60M, AH6i platforms. Ensures that maintenance functional activities and procedures are planned, coordinated, integrated, and synchronized to achieve established platform operational readiness (OR) rates IAW contractual requirements. Additionally, serves as the Director’s liaison interface with the original equipment manufacturers (OEM) for matters relating to scheduled and unscheduled maintenance, airframes, warranties, and Downed Aircraft Recovery Team (DART) activities. Ensures that all related maintenance operations are conducted in a safe manner. Serves as the Aviation Maintenance Division Manager in the absence of the Aviation Maintenance Division Manager.

 
A. Duties/responsibilities:

  1. Ensures that maintenance functional and OJT training activities and procedures among designated maintenance organizations are planned, coordinated, integrated, and synchronized to achieve established platform operational readiness (OR) rates IAW contractual requirements.
  2. Responsible for the establishment of maintenance systems, processes, procedures and reports that provide immediate situational awareness of platform OR rates.
  3. Establishes maintenance organizational goals, objectives and priorities for implementation in order to achieve stated OR rates.
  4. Oversees the maintenance budget management in support of the Aviation Operations Director, in conjunction with the Aviation Logistics Management activities for related platform parts and spares.
  5. Establishes maintenance quality control processes, procedures, standards, measures; reports in support of a quality control inspection program for all maintenance and in coordination with SCM activities.
  6. Oversees directed inquires, investigations, and research analysis related to aviation maintenance and supporting maintenance activities
  7. Responsible for the maintenance training, currency and qualifications of assigned maintenance pilots, maintenance technicians and crew chiefs

 

B. Independence: Performs within the broad guidelines of duties and responsibilities with significant choice of methods. Authority to select and implement goals and objectives within the execution of duties and responsibilities.

 

C. Supervisory Responsibilities: Report directly to the Aviation Director.  Primary supervisor of all Maintenance Managers for Aviation Maintenance.

 

Qualifications

A. Education Level: Bachelor’s Degree in business or aviation discipline from an accredited institution
 

B. Experience: 20 years cumulative experience in aviation maintenance; Five years’ experience as an aircraft mechanic/maintenance technician; Five years supervisory experience in aviation maintenance; Ten years’ experience as an Aviation Maintenance Manager for a military or civilian aviation maintenance organization; five years’ experience as program or site manager; Five years’ experience utilizing computer-hosted interactive technical manuals, aircraft maintenance forms, and other aircraft related documentation; five years’ experience in contract execution; Desired qualifications: Five years’ experience as a production control officer/ Supervisor in AH-64, MD500series, or UH-60 aircraft maintenance Five years’ experience in management of DoD contracts, Ten years’ experience in program management.

 

C. Specific knowledge, skill, and ability requirements:

  1. Demonstrated knowledge and proficiency with Microsoft office suite to prepare reports, charts and other related documents

D. Other: 

  1. Ability to communicate both orally and written.
  2. Ability to effectively deal with people in the coordination of staff and team members.
  3. Ability to effectively communicate with the customer in a professional and courteous manner.

E. Possesses a valid driver’s license
