Performs aircraft power plant maintenance tasks on the AH64E, UH-60M and AH-6i as required using the specific OEM Operators Manual, Maintenance Test Flight Manual, Check List Manual, and any other directives pertinent to the environment. Perform maintenance and repair of major assemblies, subassemblies and line replaceable unit’s (LRUs) of the AH-64E, UH-60 A/L and AH-6i power plant related systems (engines and auxiliary power units). Ensures that all related maintenance operations are conducted in a safe manner. Conducts MNG OJT training as required.
Ensures that AH64E Aircraft maintenance functional activities and procedures among designated organizations are planned, coordinated, integrated, and synchronized to achieve established platform operational readiness (OR).
Responsible for the compliance with established maintenance systems, processes, procedures and reports that provide immediate situational awareness of platform OR rates.
Establishes daily maintenance operational goals, objectives and priorities for implementation in order to achieve stated OR rates.
Oversees the daily maintenance management of individually assigned aircraft in support of the Aviation Maintenance Manager.
Works within the maintenance quality control processes, procedures, standards.
Directs inquires, investigations, and research analysis related to aviation maintenance of AH64 Aircraft and supporting maintenance activities to the Aviation Maintenance Production Control Manager.
Coordinates activities and requirements for maintenance operations support with aviation manager.
Ensures all maintenance operations and related maintenance support activities are conducted in a safe manner
Remove, disassemble, repair, rig, rework, reassemble, install, modify, adjust, test and preserve power plant systems, subsystems, and components according to directives, technical manuals, and safety procedures.
Perform inspection, troubleshooting, fault detection, fault isolation, and appropriate AVUM/AVIM corrective actions on the power plant related systems. Perform power plant maintenance and repair.
Operate and maintain all applicable peculiar and common ground support equipment. Identify, use and maintain all common, special, and precision tools available for power plant maintenance and repair.
Responsible for completion and maintenance of applicable forms, records, and reports using appropriate references and other publications of The Army Maintenance Management System (TAMMS).
Provide On-the-Job Training (OJT) for customer technicians and/or other personnel to include maintaining appropriate records on personnel such as Job Performance Guides (JPGs).
Assist in shop safety as well as safety in the hangar and on the flight line.
Accept accountability of property for the Power Plant Shop.
Maintain cleanliness and general maintenance of the associated work area. Perform cleaning, preservation, and operational maintenance work on assigned vehicles, tools, and equipment.
Operate motor vehicles, machines, and other mechanical equipment in the performance of assigned duties.
Perform other qualified duties as assigned
Independence: Performs within the broad guidelines of duties and responsibilities with significant choice of methods. Authority to select and implement goals and objectives within the execution of duties and responsibilities.
Supervisory Responsibilities: as assigned.
Education Level: High school diploma required.
Experience: Five (5) years’ experience as an aircraft powerplant mechanic. Qualified by the appropriate USG armed force aircraft powerplant course maintenance course or civilian equivalent training required. Four (4) years US Military or civilian experience as a journeyman or higher. Experience in overseas contracting environments desired.
Specific knowledge, skill, and ability requirements:
Certificate: USG armed force aircraft mechanic maintenance course or civilian equivalent training required.
Proficient in the use of computer-hosted interactive technical manuals, aircraft maintenance forms, and other aircraft related documentation.
Demonstrated past performance and experience in maintenance in AH64 Aircraft.
Ability to communicate both orally and written.
Successfully pass an overseas deployment Physical upon hire
Ability to effectively deal with people in the supervision of staff and team members.
Ability to effectively communicate with the customer in a professional and courteous manner.
Possesses a valid driver’s license.
Must have demonstrated, hands-on working knowledge of GE T700-701 series and Allison 250-C30 series power plant systems and subsystems.
Hands on knowledge of the US Army T-62T-40 auxiliary power plant is desired.
Must have a working knowledge of The Army Maintenance Management System (TAMMS) and applicable Army publications.
Must have demonstrated communication skills, both oral and written. Must be articulate in the English language.
Ability to read, write, speak, and understand Arabic is desirable.
