Performs duties as an Airframe structural repair technician.  Performs duties as Aircraft airframe Structural Repairman such as inspections, repairs, and replacement of aircraft structural components to include stringers, longerons, bulkheads, beams and aircraft skin according to drawings, blueprints, directives, technical manuals and safety procedures. Fabricates structural parts and forming blocks. Shapes metal using stretching, shrinking, and other metal forming techniques. Mixes and applies fiberglass materials. Makes unscheduled emergency and permanent repairs to transparent plastic windows and enclosures. Uses the following; common measuring tools, precision measuring gages and alignment fixtures to perform structural repairs. Mixes and applies primers and paints to aircraft surfaces.  Applies corrosion control treatment to aircraft metals. Requisitions and maintains shop and bench stock items for repair of aircraft structures. Uses and performs operator maintenance on common special tools.  Prepares, forms and records related to maintenance activity. Provides training to Saudi National Guard soldiers to include certification recommendations for level progression. Schedule training and document training in an automated training management system. Provide training reports as required.   Ensures, that all related maintenance operations are conducted in a safe manner.

A. Duties/responsibilities:

  1. Ensures that structural aircraft  maintenance functional activities and procedures among designated  organizations are planned, coordinated, integrated, and synchronized to achieve established platform operational readiness (OR) rates IAW contractual requirements.
  2. Responsible for the compliance with established maintenance systems, processes, procedures and reports that provide immediate situational awareness of platform OR rates.
  3. Oversees the daily structural maintenance management of individually assigned aircraft in support of the Aviation Maintenance Manager, in conjunction with the Aviation Logistics for related platform parts and spares.
  4. Directs inquires, investigations, and research analysis related to aviation maintenance of and supporting maintenance activities to the Aviation Maintenance Production Control Manager.
  5. Works within the maintenance quality control processes, procedures, standards
  6. Coordinates activities and requirements for maintenance operations support to the Maintenance Manager.
  7. Document training using automated training management systems.
  8. Coordinates with maintenance manager for daily and weekly maintenance training activities and requirements.
  9. Ensures all maintenance operations and related maintenance support activities are conducted in a safe manner.
  10. Supports, in coordination with the Aviation Manager, the Downed Aircraft Recovery Team (DART) process and procedure.
  11. Other duties as assigned.

B. Independence: Performs within the broad guidelines of duties and responsibilities with significant choice of methods. Authority to select and implement goals and objectives within the execution of duties and responsibilities.


C. Supervisory Responsibilities: as assigned.


A. Education Level: High school diploma required.


B. Experience: Five (5) years’ experience performing aircraft structural repairs. Qualified by the appropriate USG armed forces aircraft structural maintenance course or civilian equivalent required.  Ten (10) years’ experience performing aircraft structural repairs Desired. Experience in overseas contracting environments desired.


C. Specific knowledge, skill, and ability requirements:  

  1. Certificate: Military aircraft structural maintenance course or civilian equivalent required.
  2. Proficient in the use of computer-hosted interactive technical manuals, aircraft maintenance forms, and other aircraft related documentation. 
  3. Demonstrated past performance and experience in maintenance in UH60 Aircraft.
  4. Ability to communicate both orally and written.
  5. Successfully pass an overseas deployment physical upon hire.
  6. Ability to effectively deal with people in the supervision of staff and team members.
  7. Ability to effectively communicate with the customer in a professional and courteous manner.
  8. Possesses a valid driver’s license.
