Overview

Responsible to the Chief, Doctrine Development Section for the staff coordination/guidance, format, quality control, edit, and tactical and technical accuracy of the assigned doctrinal publications. Provides review and input of all doctrinal, collective task, and individual task publications. Responsible for the quality control and assurance of all documents developed by the publication developers.
 

A. Duties/responsibilities:

  1. Reviews and edits all doctrinal, collective task, and individual task publications for proper format, grammar, and punctuation tactical and technical accuracy of the assigned publications.
  2. Assists the Chief, Doctrine Development and TDB Translation Section in the coordination between the section developers, and other subject matter experts, on all doctrinal and training publications issues, ensuring compliance with stated doctrine and training, policies and procedures.
  3. Recommends actions, as required, to the Chief, Doctrine Development Section for enhancement of objectives accomplishment and effectiveness of the section’s mission.
  4. Monitors and evaluates the quantity and quality of doctrinal and training publications development work performed by all developers, ensuring compliance with stated doctrine and training policies and procedures.
  5. Performs duties under the direction of the Chief, Doctrine Development and TDB Translation Section. Accomplishes responsibilities independently, under established objectives, policies and procedures, conferring on exceptions with the Chief, Doctrine Development Section.

B. Supervisory Responsibilities: Supervises 5 U.S. Senior Doctrine Developers.

 

Qualifications

A. Education Level: Associates Degree required. Bachelor’s Degree preferred. An equivalent combination of college level courses, military training, and job site experience may be substituted. Graduate of Officer or Senior Leader Course.

 

B. Experience: Former U.S. Military commissioned officer or senior noncommissioned officer, with at least five years of experience in his specialty area required. Seven years of experience in U.S. military at battalion or higher level, U.S. Military Service School as instructor/writer, job site experience, or any combination thereof, required.  

 

C. Specific knowledge, skill, ability requirements: Must have knowledge of military doctrine development and Systems approach to Training techniques and procedures. Professional experience in a multicultural environment is desired. Proficient in MS Office professional software, required.
