Aviation Quality Assurance Safety Manager

Build, develop, establish, and maintain safety and mission assurance program policies, processes, and procedures. Work directly with aviation operating entities to ensure inspections, process control analyses, and internal audits are conducted IAW the Business System Manual (BSM). Generate results-based quantitative assessment of contract and safety performance for use by external stakeholders. Implement and maintain an AS9110 compliant Aviation Safety Management System (SMS). Oversee the Risk Management Program and Safety Management System (SMS) IAW the International Civil Aeronautics Organization (ICAO) and AS9110 standards. Provide expertise and guidance on interpreting policies, governmental regulations, and agency procedures. Support the Quality, Safety, and Mission Assurance (QSMA) Manager in completion of goals. Supervise and mentor a team of subordinate safety experts. Liaise between the company and various foreign and domestic government agencies.

A. Duties/Responsibilities:

  1. Ensure safety and mission assurance functional activities among designated Vinnell Arabia organizations are planned, coordinated, integrated, and synchronized to achieve contractual requirements IAW the Aviation PWS and CDRLs.
  2. Implement AS9110 compliant safety control processes, procedures, measures, standards, and KPIs.
  3. Conduct periodic audits during maintenance procedures with technical inspectors to ensure compliance with AS9110.
  4. Assist QMSA Manager with Corrective Action Requests (CARs) management by identifying root causes and developing Corrective Action Plans (CAPs).
  5. Provide objective-oriented direction to subordinate organizations specifically addressing safety performance.
  6. Oversee the Risk Management Program, SMS implementation, and CAPs IAW ICAO and AS9110 standards.
  7. Advise and train managers on implementation of tools and techniques to enable achievement of AS9110 and BSM standards.
  8. Participate in the development of appropriate communication, knowledge, and project status reporting at multiple levels.
  9. Perform additional tasks as assigned by the QSMA Manager and the Director of Aviation.

B. Independence: Authority to select and implement goals and objectives within the execution of duties and responsibilities.


C. Supervisory Responsibilities: Aviation and Ground Safety personnel


A. Education Level: Bachelor Degree or equivalent work experience.

B. Experience: 5-10 years of related work experience in aviation safety management. Military aviation experience is preferred. Completion of the following formal training courses is preferred: SMS, Total Quality Management (or equivalent), AS9100:2016 Lead Auditor Course, and Lean Six Sigma (or equivalent)

C. Knowledge, Skill, and Ability Requirements: Possess strong oral and written communication and presentation skills. Ability to communicate well in English. Possess strong customer relationship skills. Demonstrated motivation for continual improvement and professional development.

D. Other: Possess valid driver’s license.
