Senior Trainer, Automotive Maintenance

Performs as LAV automotive systems repair technician and trainer. Provides LAV automotive maintenance training for Contractor, OPM, and MNG personnel. Implements Q/C processes for receipt of LAV equipment. Performs fault isolation procedures on LAV systems utilizing a variety of TMDE.

A. Duties/Responsibilities:

  1. Performs as a technician tasked with the mechanical repair of LAV automotive systems.  Applies advanced knowledge of compression ignition engines and related assemblies and a variety of diagnostic equipment.
  2. Provides training to assistant trainers in conjunction with NET. As an SME, assists in maintenance of training records, documents, and materiel related to LAV automotive training programs.
  3. Identifies and submits requirement for repair parts using English/Arabic military and civilian manuals.
  4. Performs initial and final in shop inspections and implements quality control processes under guidance of the LAS Supervisor.
  5. Provides automotive maintenance functions related to the issue of LAV and LAV-related equipment.
  6. Maintains records, prepares and submits required reports.
  7. Performs other duties as assigned.

B. Independence: Acts under the supervision of the LAS Supervisor, LAS Automotive Section.


C. Supervisory Responsibilities: Responsible for six (6) Assistant Trainer, Automotive and the overall shop operation of the LAV Automotive Section.


A. Education Level: High School. Associates Degree preferred. Trained in diesel powered heavy equipment, Service/Technical School graduate or Military Technical Training in Heavy Automotive Maintenance repair.


B. Experience: Four (4) years hands-on experience in the automotive repair of Armored Vehicles and diesel powered heavy equipment.


C. Specific knowledge, skill, ability requirement: Knowledgeable in the use of TMDE and troubleshooting processes for diesel engines. Must possess a valid driver's license.
