  • Overview

    Provides advice and assistance to Engineer Unit leadership in developing, preparing, and conducting engineer training for unit soldiers in mobility, counter-mobility, survivability, and general engineering operations in compliance with Ministry of National Guard (MNG) doctrine.

    A. Duties/Responsibilities:

    1. Prepare and conduct combat engineer heavy equipment training assistance program.
    2. Develop heavy equipment Lesson Plans as the subject matter expert.            
    3. Prepare and submit training reports and requests.             
    4. Account for and maintain assigned equipment.
    5. Review heavy equipment publications for accuracy/applicability to MNG use.
    6. Provide advice and assistance to other organizations in matters pertaining to engineer heavy equipment training and operations.
    7. Provides training and assistance to MNG units participating in Command Post, Field and Situational Training Exercises.
    8. Assist in training for units on combat engineer individual and collective tasks.
    9. Perform other mission-related tasks, as required.

    B. Supervisory Responsibilities: One Interpreter/Translator.



    A. Education Level: High School Graduate (college graduate preferred). Combat Engineer Advance Leaders Course/Basic Non Commissioned Officers Course Graduate required; (Combat Engineer Senior Leaders/Advance Course Graduate preferred), an equivalent combination of college level courses, military training and job site experience may be substituted.


    B. Experience: Five years’ experience operating Heavy Equipment. Three years’ experience as a U.S. Army Heavy Equipment Section Leader or Platoon Sergeant.


    C. Specific knowledge, skill, and ability requirements: Must have exceptional organizational skills and possess excellent communicative skills, both verbally and writing, exceptional understanding of MS Office programs; analytical skills; good interpersonal skills; demonstrated capability to work in a challenging, multi-cultural environment, and be able to interact with outside agencies. Must have sufficient knowledge of US Army Heavy Equipment Operations, Capabilities, and Tactical Employment Possess a valid driver’s license. Former SSG Non-commissioned officer with a US Army 62N/21N, 62J/21J, 62E/21E MOS or USMC 1345 MOS required; Former SFC or above preferred.
