Chief Trainer, Staff and Faculty Development

Oversees design, development, planning, preparation, execution and assessment for Vinnell Arabia staff and faculty development programs at the Allied Health Sciences Military School.  Trains, coaches, and assists the AHSMS staff and faculty in monitoring the proficiency of SANG and Directed Hire instructors.  Monitors qualification status and technical proficiency of Allied Health Sciences Education Branch trainers based on job position requirements.  Develops, monitors, and recommends revision of instructional standards and faculty development methodologies.  Coordinates with the AHSMS Commander and staff to ensure appropriate conduct of quality assurance checks for education and training sponsored by or performed at the AHSMS.


A. Duties/Responsibilities:  

  1. Trains the AHSMS Education Section and the Training & Examination Evaluation Section staff in faculty development process, student assessment methodologies, examination verification and related monitoring requirements.
  2. Serves as subject matter expert for instructor standardization training programs and other faculty development training and assessment programs.
  3. Coaches, assists, and trains members of the AHSMS faculty and staff in military staff operations, leadership, and management skills, with focus on areas related to the military decision-making process, the training management cycle, and budget management programs.
  4. Coordinates with emergency medical services trainers for integration of program development, implementation, and assessment.
  5. Assesses classroom instruction and practical exercises to ensure adherence to standards and appropriate application of instruction methodologies.
  6. Supervises and directs development for faculty and staff development training programs, to include trainer rehearsals and reviews of lesson plans and materials for presentations.
  7. Provides subject matter expert input for medical doctrine, curriculum, and training development.
  8. Serves as the Health Affairs Division’s interface for coordinating professional certification education and training requirements.
  9. Manage, analyze, and evaluate the delivery of training sessions, to ensure organizational goals and objectives are met
  10. Programs and plans integration for new training and development initiatives by analyzing needs in coordination with emergency medical services trainers
  11. Develop local policies/procedures for conducting staff and faculty development
  12. Conduct periodic and comprehensive staff and faculty development instructor evaluations coupled with effective remedial programs as part of quality control process in coordination with emergency medical services trainers
  13. Conduct research to provide information on specific skills and knowledge needed by staff and faculty personnel to achieve standards of acceptable performance.
  14. Coordinates with the Manager, Medical Unit Training Branch and Chief Trainers for training assistance teams to obtain feedback based on training observations and ensure standardization of exportable medical training programs.
  15. Performs other tasks as required


B. Independence: Performs under general supervision of the Manager, Allied Health Sciences Education Branch.  Performs within broad objectives with significant choice of methods, frequently develops methods to achieve desired results.


C. Supervisory Responsibilities: Two (2) employees assigned to Staff and Faculty Development Section, HAD-AHSEB


A. Education Level: College Graduate, bachelor’s degree is required.  Completion of an approved instructor training course (ITC) or previous experience as an instructor/trainer in advanced emergency medical services or military equivalent.  Graduate of a military Officer or NCO Advanced Course is synonymous with instructor training course requirement.

B. Experience: A minimum of seven (7) years of experience in military academic, training or equivalent civilian environment.  Experience as a trainer for MNG medical organizations may be substituted for other experience.  Experience must be current within the past five (5) years.


C. Specific knowledge, skill, ability, requirements: Working knowledge of training and educational methods. Knowledge of didactic and practical exercise instruction methods.  Ability to communicate effectively in English, orally and in writing. Computer literate in MS-Office based programs
