The Curriculum and Faculty Development (CFD) Knowledge Management Specialist supports the Leader Development Branch (LDB) Knowledge Management Specialist with the execution and enforcement of LDB knowledge management standards and processes.   The CFD Knowledge Management Specialist also designs, develops and maintains appropriate information and knowledge sharing processes internal to CFD; and shares information and knowledge with LDB HQ and with other teams in LDB as directed. The CFD Knowledge Management Specialist is the resident automation, Information Technology (IT) and associated software expert. He facilitates the seamless exchange of information across sections, in particular between CFD development sections and the Quality Assurance/Control Quality (QACQ) section, and between functional elements or databases through both technical and procedural means.

A. Duties/responsibilities:

  1. Responsible for all aspects of Knowledge Management for the CFD Team and for data backup and protection.
  2. Develops procedures, and processes for Knowledge Management.
  3. Teaches the procedures and processes to all assigned personnel in the CFD Team; and identifies violations of CFD Team and/or LDB Knowledge Management procedures and reports them to the CFD Team Lead.
  4. Supports the process of developing reports and/or status metrics under direction of the CFD Team Lead and LDB leadership; supports analysis, retrieval, sorting, etc. of data for reporting requirements.
  5. Responsible for implementation and compliance with knowledge management related Vinnell Arabia (VA) policies and standing operation procedures (SOPs).
  6. Utilizes network, internet and cloud technology to its full potential in order to integrate information and to facilitate efficient collaboration, storage and backup of information inside the CFD Team and to interface with LDB Headquarters.
  7. Develops and integrates plans, systems, processes, and procedures to manage, distribute, and store all aspects of electronic and paper based information; and links all aspects of Information Technology (IT) with Knowledge Management.
  8. Identifies and integrates solutions for paper and electronic communications; develops procedures and processes, and manages the storage of paper and electronic files.
  9. As required, develops and/or implements systems and procedures for maintaining the integrity and accuracy of library and/or vault files for CGSC course curricula in English.
  10. Performs other mission-related duties, as required by the Curriculum and Faculty Development Team Lead.

A. Education Level: Bachelor’s Degree preferred; Master’s Degree desired. A combination of jobsite experience and education may be substituted.  


B. Experience: Experience in Knowledge Management activities.  


C. Specific Knowledge, Skill, Abilities Requirement: Proficient in IT aspects related to Knowledge Management and must be proficient in all aspects of computer technology hardware and software. Must be proficient with Microsoft Office Suite software with emphasis on Excel and Outlook, etc. Proficiency with project management software is desired. Must possess a valid US driver’s license.
