Responsible for the coaching and mentoring in the planning, preparation and coordination of training and support for a Mechanized Infantry Brigade Light Armored Vehicle (LAV) Company. Works directly with an Office of the Program Manager (OPM) Advisor. Assist the LAV Company Commander with planning, preparation, and coordination of all required training support; specifically weapons, tactics, and gunnery.
B. Supervisory Responsibilities: Direct supervisory responsibility for one Interpreter/Translator.
A. Education Level: Bachelor Degree preferred. Former Combat Arms Company Commander or U.S. Army Armor or Infantry Master Gunner Course Graduate. An equivalent combination of college level courses, military and job site experience may be substituted.
B. Experience: Ten years’ experience in operations and training in combat arms company, battalion, or higher. Recent combat deployment preferred. Six years of training and operations experience at company, battalion level or higher. Participated in the development, execution, and evaluation of battalion/brigade force-on-force field training exercises and battalion/brigade gunnery and live fire exercises.
C. Specific knowledge, skill, ability, requirements: Former Company Commander, Master Gunner or former Platoon Sergeant with Mechanized Infantry or Tank battalion experience and has a working knowledge of Unit Conduct of Fire Trainer (UCOFT and/or AGTS) and other gunnery training simulators. Must be knowledgeable of the latest tactics, and training doctrine. Be computer literate. Former Captain or Master Sergeant or Sergeant First Class required. Possess a valid driver’s license.
