  • Overview

    Under the direction of the Manager, Health Affairs Division, directs planning and execution of a comprehensive program to accomplish training and support objectives for the Allied Health Sciences Military School.  Manages implementation and execution of plans for training, coaching, and assisting AHSMS staff operations, training management, resource management, curriculum development, and faculty development. Coordinates health affairs subject matter expert contributions to the development of combat health support doctrine and military medical training publications

    A. Major Duties And Responsibilities:

    1. Serves as coach and mentor for the Commander, AHSMS.
    2. Trains, coaches, assists and mentors AHSMS staff officers.
    3. Coordinates and monitors training requirements for Vinnell Arabia employees and AHSMS staff and faculty.
    4. Monitors the quality of training, training supports, and administrative services provided by the Contractor at AHSMS.
    5. Oversees technical standardization, preparation, and execution of all training, coaching, and assistance efforts at the AHSMS.
    6. Reviews and monitors training, coaching, and assistance provided for AHSMS faculty, instructors, and curriculum development staffs.
    7. Oversees implementation of contractor instruction of faculty/curriculum development and evaluation programs, to include allied health science subject matter.
    8. Monitors support provided for direct hire employees under the terms of the contract or other official agreements between USG and SANG to ensure adequacy and appropriate administration.
    9. Assists the Manager, HAD, and the Commandant, AHSMS in the development, implementation, and revision of medical education, professional development, and training programs and policies.
    10. Performs other duties as assigned and directed.

    B. Independence: Operates independently within concepts and guidelines agreed upon with the Manager, HAD.


    C. Supervisory Responsibilities: Supervises all Contractor employees assigned or attached to the Allied Health Sciences Education Branch. Provides oversight for supervisory activity, support and services provided to Vinnell Arabia Directed Hire employees under the provisions of contract paragraphs concerning reimbursable employees designated for work in Health Affairs facilities


    A. Education Level: Bachelor’s Degree in Education, Health Care Management, Administration or related Allied Health Sciences field. Military Officer or senior NCO and graduate of officer or NCO advanced course or Service equivalent

    B. Experience: Military medical services officer or NCO, DoD or medical professional equivalent with 10 years combined experience in health care education, training and management with military staff, faculty or command experience. Experience as a trainer for MNG medical organizations can be substituted for 5 years of the experience requirement.   Experience must be current within the past five (5) years.


    C. Specific knowledge, skill, and ability requirements: Working knowledge of US Army military medical doctrine, literature, and educational methods.  Knowledge of didactic and practical exercise instructional methods.  Ability to effectively communicate in English, orally and in writing.  Ability to make logical, concise oral or written presentations of programs and data
