  • Overview

    Performs Quality Control inspections on all variants of LAV Automotive Equipment as required.  Performs initial, in-process and final inspections; applies troubleshooting skills to identify the cause(s) of malfunctions.
     

    A. Duties/Responsibilities:

    1. Performs as a quality control technician tasked in identifying malfunctions with the repair of Light Armored Vehicles automotive systems.
    2. Applies advanced knowledge of compression ignition engines and related assemblies and a variety of diagnostic equipment.
    3. Provides assistance with the Light Armored Vehicle new equipment maintenance training for Contract personnel.
    4. Identifies and submits requirement for repair parts using the Ministry of the National Guard Technical manuals.
    5. Provides technical assistance to shop personnel
    6. Performs initial, in-process, and final inspections and implements quality control programs in accordance with approved plans, policies procedures, and standards
    7. Maintains and utilizes test, measurement and diagnostic equipment related to fault isolation.
    8. Provides assistance in de-processing and maintenance training procedures on new systems purchased by the Ministry of the National Guard and maintained by the contractor.
    9. Performs other duties as assigned.

    B. Independence: Works under the supervision of the Chief Tech Inspector.
     
    C. Supervisory Responsibilities: One (1) Assistant Automotive Inspector.

    Qualifications

    A. Education Level: High School.  Trained in diesel powered heavy equipment, Service/Technical School graduate, civilian related experience or Military Technical Training in Heavy Automotive Maintenance repair at the Organizational, Direct Support or General Support level.
     

    B. Experience: Six years’ hands-on experience in the automotive repair of Armored Vehicles and diesel powered heavy equipment.
     

    C. Specific knowledge, skills, abilities and requirements: Fully knowledgeable in the use of test, measurement and diagnostic equipment used in automotive troubleshooting procedures for Diesel Engines, transmissions, and suspension systems.  Must have ability to get along well with a multinational workforce.  Must possess a valid driver’s license.
