  • Overview

    Supervises activities of the Maintenance Operations Section.  Manage and coordinate day-to-day support operations and oversee shop activities.  Serves as acting manager in the absence of the Maintenance Operations Branch Manager.

    A. Duties/responsibilities:

    1. Performs duties as Acting Manager during the absence of the Maintenance Operations Branch Manager.
    2. Manages and coordinates daily supply support operations.  Arranges provision of maintenance support to the Ministry of the National Guard Units requiring Direct Support / limited General Support maintenance.
    3. Coordinates multiple discipline maintenance management requirement functions affecting multiple work sections.
    4. Plans for internal and external training of assigned technicians for new equipment to ensure currency in existing systems.
    5. Supervises the automated maintenance control system, defines system requirements and performs maintenance management functions to include the prescribed reporting and implementing of special logistics programs as directed by Office of the Program Manager.
    6. Identifies potential maintenance problem areas revealed thru analysis of maintenance operations; develops/recommends corrective actions.
    7. In coordination with the Maintenance Operations Branch Manager, evaluates/analyzes the impact of current and proposed maintenance operations, concepts and programs as they pertain to present and proposed new equipment introduction.
    8. Performs other missions and administrative duties as required by the Maintenance Operation Branch Manager.

    B. Independence: Acts under the general supervision of the Maintenance Operations Branch Manager.  Performs with broad range of objectives with significant choice of methods.


    C. Supervisory Responsibilities: One Admin clerk and 4 section supervisors in Production Control, Allied Trades, Calibration and Supply Sections.  Provides mission oversight and guidance to the 3 section supervisors in Armament, Automotive and Quality Control sections.


    A. Education Level: Associate Degree preferred or equivalent experience.  Graduate of Military Maintenance Technical Course or civilian equivalent.

    B. Experience: Fifteen years’ experience in military logistics or equivalent activities with emphasis on Direct Support /General Support maintenance.  Experience in wheel and track vehicle systems maintenance at the Direct Support /General Support levels. Background in establishing and implementing repair procedures and priorities for maintenance programs.

    C. Specific knowledge, skills, abilities and requirements: Knowledge of principles and procedures of military Maintenance operations and management.  Knowledge of new equipment training, training management, and on-the-job-training program requirements.  Must be computer literate.  Must communicate effectively in both oral and written forms.  Must possess a valid driver's license.
