  • Overview

    Responsible for the efficient operation of the Armament Section, and the implementation of new equipment training activities, maintenance assistance and instruction program for artillery shop, turret weapon systems shop, LAV AG  (90mm assault gun) weapon system shop, LAV-M (120mm mortar) weapon system shop, fire control repair instruments shop and TOW systems shop.

    A. Duties/Responsibilities:

    1. Coordinates maintenance and training activities of the Armaments Section.
    2. Plans for and advises concerning receipt and storage of armament end items and components.
    3. Plans for and performs de-processing function in conjunction with receipt of new equipment.
    4. Ensures necessary facilities, tools, TMDE, repair parts and materials are available in preparation for contractor tasks in weapons support.
    5. Prepares reports and records of section activities.
    6. Provides technical assistance to MNG units, as required.
    7. Provides diagnostic turret support to MNG/MU.
    8. Assists in developing maintenance assistance and instruction (MAIT) programs for MNG units.
    9. Provides training in support of new equipment fielding.
    10. Responsible for the quality of the service or product-in-process under his supervision.
    11. Supervises accountability of tools, TMDE, and related items.
    12. Directs procedures for the identification and troubleshooting of malfunctions in mechanical, electrical, hydraulic systems; to include, fire control and instrument items.

    B. Independence: Acts under the general supervision of the Manager, Eastern Region Maintenance Branch.  Performs to a large extent under own responsibility with wide choice of methods.


    C. Supervisory Responsibilities: Fourteen (14) man multinational workforce.


    A. Education Level: High School. Associate degree desired. Military MOS or equivalent technical training in weapons systems maintenance acceptable. Military Leadership NCO skills or equivalent civilian leadership

    B. Experience: A minimum of eight (8) years’ experience in the supervision of armament repair at DS/DS level of maintenance.

    C. Specific knowledge, skill, ability, requirement: Knowledge in all aspects of armament repair; knowledge of operating procedures, weapon repair, facility maintenance, safety, and modern complex weapon systems.  Knowledge of supervisory principles and techniques. Ability to control and manage multiple concurrent projects. Must possess a valid driver's license.
