  • Overview

    Acts as the lead quality control and safety inspector for Automotive Maintenance Branch. Handles the task of maintaining, monitoring, and ensuring quality of automobile maintenance and equipment.  Responsible in evaluating, reporting, assessing and documenting on quality standards in maintaining of program vehicles and equipment. 

    A. Duties/Responsibilities:

    1. Supervises, quality control technician in troubleshooting and problem solving related with quality control aspects.
    2. Performs initial and final inspection of all job orders at Automotive Maintenance Branch. Coordinate the required ORG/DS/GS operations and maintenance.
    3. Responsible in reviewing work orders through MAXIMO and recommend type of works needed for all job orders.
    4. Prepares reports based on findings from the inspections to be presented to AMB manager and or mechanics.
    5. Checks preventive maintenance programs, investigates complaints, accidents and operations.
    6. Perform researched for part number as needed for customer’s satisfaction.
    7. Coordinate and performs safety inspection.
    8. Assess vehicles serviceability based on company’s SOP’s and directives.
    9. Responsible for developing programs to evaluate accuracy and precision of shop equipment and testing.
    10. Ensures the subcontractor’s compliance with subcontract terms and conditions, applicable standards, Vinnell directives and report any non-compliance or substandard performance to the Manager, Automotive maintenance branch.
    11. Instructs subcontractor or Automotive Maintenance Branch (AMB) personnel on equipment they are unfamiliar with. 
    12. Assigned the responsibilities of gathering information and conducting training sessions on quality control activities.
    13. Enforces HAZMAT and safety policies and procedures IAW appropriate SOPs and regulations. Equip personnel with the necessary Personal protective Equipment (PPE) to perform tasks in a safe manner.
    14. Monitoring and ensuring highest quality of automobile equipment and recommend corrective actions if necessary.
    15. Performs other mission-related tasks as required and as directed.

    B. Independence: Acts under the supervision of the Manager, Automotive maintenance branch.  Performs to a large   extent under own responsibility with some choice of methods.


    C. Supervisory Responsibilities: QA/QC personnel.



    A. Educational Level: Two to three (2-3) years of technical/vocational or college education in automotive maintenance after high school.

    B. Experience: A minimum of five (5) years experiences in automotive repair with at least three (3) years in supervisory position.  Experience in military vehicle maintenance preferred.

    C. Specific knowledge, skills, ability, and requirements: Knowledge of quality control procedures and techniques.  Knowledge of Automotive Test Measurement and Diagnostic Equipment (TMDEO) and its proper use/care.  Knowledge of supervisory principles and techniques.  Knowledge and ability to use the MAXIMO work order and supply management control system.  Ability to communicate effectively in English, both orally and in writing.  Possess a valid driver’s license.
