  • Overview

    Plans, directs, coordinates and supervises the development functions of the Doctrine Development Section. Provides assistance and evaluative consultation on all doctrinal matters, as required. Mentors and coaches MNG departments on the development of doctrinal and training requirements.  Advise and assists the staffing, tactical and technical accuracy, publication and conversion of Contractor Field Test Edition (FTE) to National Guard Final Edition (FE) assigned doctrinal and training publications.

    A. Duties/responsibilities:

    1. Provide advise and assist services to the Ministry of Nationl Guard (MNG) Modernization Program to the Training Support Military Doctrine Unit’s (TSMDU), Publication Military Doctrine Department (PMDD). 
    2. Provides evaluative consultation in the design and development of all required doctrine in support of MNG.
    3. Administers the activities of the section for effective accomplishment of the contractual objectives and requirements.
    4. Manages the planning functions of the section for effective resources utilization and timely accomplishment of assigned goals and objectives.
    5. Establish a working relationship with PMDD, attend all committee meetings, track the progress of manuals that are being developed to Field Test Edition (FTE) and manual being refined by PMDD for FTE to Final Edition (FE) conversions.
    6. Advise and assist the planning, developing, staffing, publishing, and revissions of field manuals; doctrine and training with the the TSMDU’s PMDD.  Will be required to interact with subject matter experts with MNG-TSMDU, and contractors to extract technical information for use in their advise and assist role.
    7. Design a workshop on the doctrine development and fielding process and conduct a Train-the-Trainer program to select MNG-TSMDU General Officers, Senior Officers, and Noncommissioned Officers within the TSMDU and PMDD.
    8. Performs other mission-related duties as required or assigned.

    B. Independence: Acts under the general overview of the Manager, Training Support Branch; operating within broad objective and within intent of logn-range planning.  Govern own resources in problem solving and implementation of training program. 


    C. Supervisory Responsibilities: Supervises all personnel assigned to the DDS.  Manages and supervises the policies, plans, programs and other procedural documents required to operate DDS.


    A. Education Level: Bachelor’s degree required.  Master’s preferred.  An equivalent combination of college-level courses, military training and job site experience may be substituted.  Graduate of Officer or Senior Leader Course.

    B. Experience: Fromer U.S. Military commissioned officer or senior non-comissioned officer, with at least five years experience in his specialty area required.  Five years experience in U.S. military at battalion or higher level, U.S. Military Service School as instructor/writer, job site experience, or any combination thereof, required. 

    C. Specific Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Requirements: Must possess a detailed knowledge of U.S. military doctrine and Systems Approach to Training processes and procedures.  Must possess excellent capability for expression of ideas and thought, in grammatically correctd English either orally or in writing.  Professional experience in a multi-cultural environment is desired.  Proficient in MS Office Professional software.
