  • Overview

    Deputy Manager, Support Operations reports to the Sustainment Division (SD) Senior Manager.  Multifunctional operations professional with the responsibility to act as the single point of contact for logistics and maintenance oversight and tracking, support activities, and special projects management.  Acts as the Division Senior Manager in his absence.

     

    A. Duties/Responsibilities:

    1. Principle staff officer and advisor to the SD Senior Manager concerning all SD Administration Operations; prepares all SD reports, conducts SD Personnel management, Finance management, Facilities management, and coordinates the SD Staff and Mangers in order to synchronize internal SD actions.
    2. Assists the Division Senior Manager in planning, developing, modifying, and managing the execution of operational plans, policies, and procedures for the SD Branches.
    3. Primary staff liaison for SD maintenance and logistics status and training with Office of Program Management (OPM), Ministry of the National Guard (MNG), other divisions within the Directorate of Training (DOT), and other contractors that interact with SD logistics activities.
    4. Gathers data, prepares reports, prepares and presents briefings concerning maintenance and repair part status of Light Armored Vehicles (LAV) in shipment, de-processing, storage, and preparation for issue activities.
    5. Attends all meetings with OPM, MNG and divisions within the DOT to ensure SD maintenance, supply, and logistics training activities are synchronized within the DOT and with external agencies interacting with SD logistics operations.
    6. Perform the duties of the SD Senior Manager in his absence.

    B. Independence: Acts under the general supervision of the Division Senior Manager.  Performs within broad objectives with significant choice of methods.

     

    C. Supervisory Responsibilities: Chief of Operations

     

    Qualifications

    A. Education Level: College graduate required, Master’s Degree preferred.  US military senior leadership/management training, Officer or Enlisted.
     

    B. Experience: Minimum of ten years senior management experience; with emphasis on maintenance and supply management, planning operations, logistics and training.  Project Management experience and knowledge of International Organization for Standardization (ISO) requirements and implementation preferred.
     

    C. Specific knowledge, skill, abilities: Ability to adapt to suit operational support requirements.  Knowledge of logistics management policies and procedures; knowledge of training, planning, and development; knowledge of the logistics system; knowledge of management principles and techniques; highly developed written and oral communication skills are required; must be computer literate and proficient with Microsoft Office software.  Possess a valid driving license.
